The right light
Lighting is crucial to setting the right scene. As you start your Electric Home Design plan, think about the different moods you might want to create in your dining room.
A bright and well-lit room is ideal for family dinner time or homework, while romantic dinners call for softer overhead lighting and ambient lamp light. Dinner parties are better with lighting focused on the table to keep conversation going late into the night.
If you have overhead LEDs, choose Warm White tones for a more relaxed feel and add a dimmer to switches so you can instantly create a softer mood. Hanging a statement light over the dining table is a great way to create impact. It also means you can turn off or dim other lighting in the room and draw focus to the dining table. This is also an effective way of separating the space if it’s close to the kitchen or other shared area.
Think about adding floor or table lamps around the room to create ambience and interest. If you want to highlight particular artworks you could use spotlights on them for added effect.
